Mills stepped up to the free throw line as a participant in the Hoop Shoot and advanced all the way to Regionals. Years later, he became the Regional Director for Northwest Region 1. A member of Caldwell, Idaho, Lodge No. 1448, Mills is the 2021-22 National President of the Elks.
