Though Getty Powell was the First National Director of the Elks Hoop Shoot, none of his work would have been possible without his wife, Billie Powell.
Billie made many of the phone calls, booked travel and accommodation for competitors and volunteers, and did anything else she could to help the program grow. After Getty’s time as National Director, Billie continued in her role, eventually serving the program for more than 20 years.
