A 2017 Frank Hise National Champion and 2015 National Finalist, Jacobi is no stranger to the feelings of elation and excitement that come with winning—or the feelings of doubt and disappointment that come with falling short. Since he aged out of competition, Jacobi has stayed involved as a volunteer at his local, state and district competitions, and he aims to use his knowledge to enhance the Hoop Shoot experience for competitors. His involvement with the Elks doesn’t stop there: Jacobi is also a 2023 Legacy Awards scholarship recipient!
Advice for the 2022 National Finalists: No matter what happens today you are one of the 12 best free throw shooters in your age group in the country. Let that sink in: top 12, no matter where you place today. You’ve already won!
